International Education Forum

On August 24, the inaugural meeting of the Chengdu-Chongqing Primary Education Alliance and the Sino-Finnish Primary School Teacher Education Forum was held at China West Normal University. Cui Changhong, Deputy Secretary of the Working Committee of Education of the Sichuan Provincial Party and Deputy Director of the Education Department; Deng Rui, Member of the Working Committee of Education of the Chongqing Municipal Committee and Deputy Director of the Municipal Education Commission; Shen Yifan, Deputy Mayor of Nanchong Municipal People’s Government; Kou Kunlun and others attended the inaugural meeting.

General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that education is an important cornerstone of national rejuvenation and social progress. It is a major part of a plan for the country and the party. It has decisive meaning for the improvement and promotion of the comprehensive competence of people, enhancement of the innovation and creativity of the Chinese nation, and achievement of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Beijing Shengtao Education Development and Innovation Research Institute held the 2019 Beijing Normal Experimental Primary School and the inaugural meeting of the Primary School Branch of the China Education International Exchange Association at the Primary School Attached to Beijing Normal University on April 11-12, 2019. The theme of the conference was mainly around primary school curriculum construction.

From June 27 to 28, 2018, the 4th China-Finland Basic Education Summit Forum was co-sponsored by FEDUCATION and FICEA, Chongqing High-tech Zone Management Committee and Municipal Education Society. Held at CRC Xiejiawan Primary School in Jiulongpo District, this forum was also held in conjunction with the seventh Sino-Finnish teaching exchange seminar.

The 3rd China-Finland Principals (Basic Education) Forum ended Tuesday at the University of Lapland in Rovaniemi adopting the aim to build an international communication, cooperation, and development platform.
A large number of experts, academicians, administrators, and diplomats took part in the 2-day forum organised jointly by the Finland-China Education Association (FICEA) and the University of Lapland.

Chinese essential-qualities-oriented education reform in basic education is reaching a crucial stage. And at the same time, this August Finnish primary and secondary schools are starting the first semester after the new curriculum reform is implemented. This new reform aims at shifting the focus from “what to learn” to “how to learn”.

More than 1,500 education experts gathered in Finland at a large-scale education event from 3rd to 6th of August. The 12th Convention of the International Confederation of Principals was held in Helsinki, in Finlandia Hall. As a strategic partner of the World Confederation of Principals, Finland-China Education Association (FICEA) organized for more than one hundred principals and other education experts to come from China to Finland to discuss the hot issues of today’s education. The Chinese delegation was the largest foreign delegation to join the conference.

As the most important sub-forum of the 12th ICP convention, the 1st China-Finland principals forum, co-hosted by Finland-China Education Association (FICEA) and Association of Finnish Principals, was successfully held in Plenary Hall of Parliament House in Helsinki on 4th August. The guest speakers delivered wonderful speeches around three main topics which were “China-Finland Education Reforms and Development of Future Schools”, “Development of Learning Environments and Education Technology” and “Improvement of Education Management and School Leadership”.
