FEDUCATION 2019 “Finnish Education Training Program in Finland”– “Guangdong Provincial Secondary School Key Principals” Training Program

From January 6th to 26th, 2019, 24 principals from the Guangdong Provincial Middle School came to Finland to participate in the “Guangdong Provincial Secondary School Key Principals” Training Program organized by Finnish International Education Innovation Research Institute (FEDUCATION), Finland-China Education Association (FICEA) and Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK). This training program is approved by the State Administration of Foreign Expert Affairs of China. The training included ten Finnish local schools visitation, lesson observations, 4 thematic workshops, 15 educational keynote reports, teacher seminars, and an off-campus course experience. The contents of the training consisted of investigation and study of the school curriculum, curriculum innovation, national curriculum localization, principal leadership, campus culture construction, multi-disciplinary integrated innovative teaching, educational information development and modern teaching environment design. The principals highly praised the training for its professional and diverse topics. At the same time, they gained a deep and comprehensive understanding of Finnish education, and in the after-school independent training session, they reflected on how to implement these methods in their own schools. This training encouraged the principals to concentrate on the advantages of Finnish education and localize them in their own school development.
