On April 9, 2018, under the leadership of Dr. Dong Li, executive president of Finnish International Education Innovation Research Institute, a team of seven Finnish education experts revisited Wuyi Primary School in Haidian District, Beijing.
The principal of the school gave a speech at the opening ceremony of the training, in which she thanked the expert team for their continuous assistance. After the opening ceremony, Dr. Dong Li briefly introduced the expert team and the main purpose of the trip. He said that since the cooperation between the two sides, each training has been planned with the needs of the school in mind, from teaching materials to the classroom, strategy to tactics. The goal of this training is to understand the curriculum system and develop the school-based curriculum.

This one-week training focused on the future-oriented classroom teaching reforms. The Finnish experts presented the Wuyi Primary School teachers with lectures, classroom teaching guidance and evaluations, subject-based discussions, and model class demonstrations, which discussed the integration of disciplines, teaching, and life, and the appropriate application of information technology in the classroom learning. The training period coincided with Wuyi Primary School hosting the Haidian District School-based Curriculum sharing exchange seminar. Hao Ping, Section Chief of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office of the Haidian District Education Commission; Zhao Jiezhi, Vice Principal of the Haidian District Teacher Training School; and more than 60 education leaders also participated in this Finnish education training program and seminar.

As the training concluded, Chen Shan, Principal of Wuyi Primary School talked about the importance of school-based training for the construction of the teaching team and explained that the long-term Sino-Finnish education exchange and cooperation project, co-organized with FEDUCATION, is helping teachers grow and have their own characteristics. The sustainable development of school-based curriculum has far-reaching significance. The principals and teachers who participated in the training also spoke and expressed that they benefited a lot from participating in the training, and it played a positive role in promoting the reform of daily classroom teaching. Mr. Jarno Syrjälä, the Finnish Ambassador to China, was invited by FEDUCATION, visited Wuyi Primary School on the same day. He listened to the achievements and gains that had resulted from the cooperation between Wuyi Primary School and FEDUCATION in teacher training in recent years and gave them a high degree of recognition.
