On August 24 of 2020, the inaugural meeting of the Chengdu-Chongqing Primary Education Alliance and the Sino-Finnish Primary School Teacher Education Forum was held at China West Normal University. Except the directors of Sichuan Province and Chongqing city government educational sectors, the heads of relevant education departments in Sichuan and Chongqing, the heads of more than 40 colleges and universities and elementary schools, and teacher representatives witnessed the establishment of the Chengdu-Chongqing Primary Education Alliance. This is the coordinated development of the Chengdu-Chongqing City in the education field. Significant cooperation and practice will establish a collaborative and innovative community for primary school education in Chengdu-Chongqing area, and strongly promote the co-construction and sharing of primary education resources in Chengdu-Chongqing area, as well as promote the reform of primary school teacher training and education, and the development and improvement of the quality of basic education in Chengdu-Chongqing area. It will also add wisdom and strength to the implementation of the national strategy for education.

At the Sino-Finnish Primary School Teacher Education Summit, teachers from China West Normal University’s preschool and primary schools and other schools shared model lessons of the professional growth of primary school general teachers. Dong Li, Executive President of the Finnish International Education Innovation Research Institute, made comprehensive and professional comments online on all teachers’ speeches and demonstration lessons, leading the professional direction for teachers’ future career development and educational research. Dr. Matti Rossi, the senior education advisor from the Finnish International Education Innovation Research Institute, gave a keynote report entitled “Finnish Primary School Teachers and Classroom Reform”, and shared the characteristics and advantages of Finnish class teachers and the successful experience of Finnish education reform. The education event and expert lecture attracted about 146,000 educators to actively participate and communicate in online and offline forms.
